My Life as a Teenage Do-Wop Girl

This Just In: Jesus Camp Massacre is Offensive!

So I cross-posted my Jesus Camp Massacre Ap thread to a few other locations, for purposes both of promotion (duh) and to spread the word of the greatest gaming session I’ve ever run in my entire life. One place I was certain would love it is the forum for Fear the Boot, one of my long-time favoritest gaming podcasts ever. I disagree with about half of what they say (such as one of their design episodes wherein they said “stat + kill” systems were the best because they always worked, or some such), but they’re consistently hilarious, and they tend to be a bit over-the-top with their own offensive jabs at, well, just about everything.

So I posted it here, and the responses were unanimously positive. Unexpectedly, the moderator (Chad, who is known by all to be the most offensive, outspoken, loud-mouthed, and proudly controversial of all the show’s hosts) stepped in and locked the thread due to “numerous complaints” about its offensive nature. For a podcast with such a tongue-in-cheek approach to such subjects, this really, really surprised me - amused me, even. How ironic.

So I responded:

I’m more amused by your locking of the thread than anything else. You’re one of the most offensive people on the FtB podcast, admittedly so. I’ve heard you say things on there and especially on the Bonus Episodes that would make sailors blush. Yet those episodes are freely available for the downloading of anyone and everyone, and people can even freely comment on them.

But I try to share some obviously tongue-in-cheek gaming fun with my fellow ‘Booters - people that I know from experience and many days of listening to the podcasts are thick-skinned and can handle this style of humor - and it gets locked for poking fun at religion?

No, not upset at all, just highly amused at the sheer irony of the situation. Ah well, it’s your board, do as you want.

But after thinking on it some more, it all made sense: Chad’s just jealous at how motherfucking awesome that session was. I’m sorry, Everyone Else On Earth, that your own games just pale in comparison to the One True Game that was the Jesus Camp Massacre.

Keep the Faith, everyone!
